Our Story
Angat Pilipinas Coalition for Financial Literacy, Inc. is a global non-profit organization of active and former Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and personal finance advocates. We are dedicated to transforming Filipinos through personal financial literacy — addressing issues, discussing concerns, and sharing knowledge on entrepreneurship, investment, and financial literacy to contribute to poverty alleviation.
The coalition traces its roots to October 2009, when it began as AngatBayan Friendster and Yahoo groups. The founding was shaped by the devastation of Typhoon Ondoy, which underscored the urgent need for financial resilience among Filipino families. What started as small online communities has since grown into a worldwide movement spanning forums, workshops, and educational programs.
Mission & Vision
Our core mission is to share knowledge on entrepreneurship, investment, and financial literacy — empowering Filipinos to improve their quality of life and break the cycle of poverty. We envision a nation where every Filipino, at home and abroad, has the tools and confidence to make sound financial decisions.
Through community forums, workshops, and the AP Learning Institute, we bring practical financial education directly to OFWs, students, artists, and families in underserved communities.
