About the FLY Program
The FLY (Financial Literacy for the Youth) Program is Angat Pilipinas' initiative to equip young Filipinos with foundational knowledge in saving, budgeting, and responsible money habits. We bring financial education directly to children in need — reaching towns such as Alitagtag, Batangas, and beyond.
Through hands-on sessions and community partnerships, FLY aims to plant the seeds of financial awareness early, helping the next generation build a more secure future.
The FLY Program, short for Financial Literacy for the Youth, represents the core educational outreach of the Angat Pilipinas Coalition. Designed for young Filipinos who may lack access to basic financial concepts, the program introduces saving, budgeting, and responsible money management in an age-appropriate and engaging way. Sessions are conducted in schools and community centers, often in underserved areas where financial education is not part of the standard curriculum. By meeting children where they are, the program ensures that foundational money skills become accessible regardless of background. The goal is not simply to teach theory but to build real habits that children can carry into adulthood, helping break cycles of financial insecurity and poverty over time.
Community partnerships are central to how the FLY Program operates effectively. The coalition works alongside local organizations, educational institutions, and civic groups to bring financial literacy sessions to children who need them most. These collaborations help ensure that the program reaches a wide range of communities, from quiet provincial towns to busier urban centers. Partner organizations assist with logistics, venue coordination, and participant engagement, making each session a shared effort toward a common goal. This network of support also allows the program to be sustainable, as local partners can continue reinforcing financial lessons long after a formal session ends. Together, these relationships amplify the program's reach and deepen its impact across the Philippines.
The long-term vision of the FLY Program extends beyond individual sessions into lasting behavioral change. By teaching children the value of saving and the discipline of budgeting early in life, the program aims to cultivate a generation of financially aware adults who can make informed decisions. This approach addresses broader national challenges such as poverty alleviation and economic empowerment, starting from the youngest members of society. The program also encourages children to share what they learn with their families, creating a ripple effect that spreads financial knowledge throughout households. In this way, each child trained becomes a catalyst for greater financial awareness in their community, supporting the coalition's mission of achieving lasting financial literacy for all Filipinos.
